Just like the 5065s, but a shorter can. Just finished a dual drive longboard build with these. These are considerably noisier than the 5065s, with a slightly harsher tone (the 5065 sound just like the Evolve Carbon GT, the 5045 has a more rough whine, almost like gears). I don't mind it. If you don't like the noise, run FOC, I'm sure they would handle it fine with the hall sensors. I'm running 25A per motor through VESC on 10S, and that seems to be around their working limit. You might be able to do 30A per motor if you want, but they might not last very long. The 5065s are a bit more powerful and torquey (had them on a dual diagonal setup), but they don't fit on my dual rear setup. Plus, I don't feel I need more power, as I only feel comfortable drawing 50A from my 10S4P battery anyways. Here are some VESC settings I find work well at 10S: Motor Max/Min: 80/-80 (gives plenty of startup torque. Reduce the min value if you feel that the slow speed braking is too sensitive) Battery Max/Min: 25/-7 (don't need any more for the brakes, they're so powerful as is) Overall, you can't find a better motor at this price point. Seems to be well made, has a well sealed can, and hall sensors. Would purchase again!
im using this motor on a dual rear drive electric skateboard and it works great. running on 10s lipo power
